About Lionsgate
Lionsgate is a Canadian-American studio best known for building hit franchises outside the traditional Hollywood major-studio system, including The Hunger Games and John Wick. Founded in 1997, Lionsgate grew through a mix of genre filmmaking, awards-season dramas, and savvy franchise management into one of the most prominent independent studios still operating at scale.
The studio also owns a significant film and TV library, which has powered licensing deals and its own streaming ventures over the years, while its motion picture group continues to produce several franchise sequels and spin-offs each year.
