The MongolZ are reportedly closing in on a reunion with Yesuntumur “nin9” Gantulga to fill the final open spot on their Counter-Strike 2 roster, according to HLTV. The MongolZ nin9 move has not been officially announced, so treat it as a report until the organization confirms it.

MongolZ nin9 Report: What Sources Say
Sources told HLTV that nin9, currently with The Huns, “appears to be on the brink of returning to his old team.” HLTV also reported that he has missed recent Huns matches, a sign that a move could be near. The 28-year-old would reunite with bLitz and Techno, his teammates from the 2022 Major run, according to Dust2.in.
The report said The MongolZ also considered other options before settling on nin9, including Maks “laxiee” Andryei and academy talent Bayarbat “M4k” Tugs-Erdene. Benched player Anarbileg “cobrazera” Uuganbayar, who stood in for the team at FISSURE Playground 3, is also expected to return to the starting five, per Dust2.in.
How The MongolZ Roster Got Here
The MongolZ have been playing with three active players since mid-September. On Sept. 15, the team benched Zolbayar “tikuak” Chimedtseren and Dugarsuren “DarkMeister” Ireedui after roughly two months on the active roster, HLTV reported. The move followed a 9th-to-16th-place finish at the Esports World Cup and a last-place exit at FISSURE Playground 3. The pair played nine matches combined, with tikuak averaging a 0.90 rating and DarkMeister a 0.91, HLTV said. The organization described the two as its newest recruits, who struggled against higher-level competition. The new MongolZ nin9 reports follow that benching, and Dust2.in said cobrazera had been sidelined since July before being used as a stand-in.
The three players who remained are:
- Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren
- Usukhbayar “910” Banzragch
- Sodbayar “Techno” Munkhbold
Erdenedalai “maaRaa” Bayanbat remains the head coach. If the reports are accurate, adding nin9 and cobrazera would bring the active lineup back to five players, with DarkMeister on the bench.
Why nin9 Is a Familiar Name
nin9 played for The MongolZ from May to August 2018 under maaRaa, according to HLTV. He later became part of Mongolian esports history in 2022, when he, bLitz, Techno and maaRaa helped the IHC roster become the first Mongolian team to qualify for a Major. Dust2.in noted that he has posted a 1.08 rating in 2026.

Where The MongolZ Stand in CS2
The MongolZ are ranked No. 16 in the world on HLTV and once held the No. 1 spot for two weeks, according to the team’s HLTV profile. A stable five-player lineup matters because the team has struggled for consistency since losing key players, Dust2.in noted. Settling the roster before the upcoming events would give The MongolZ and coach maaRaa time to practice together, which is why this reported MongolZ nin9 signing is being watched closely by CS2 fans.
An official announcement from The MongolZ would confirm the signing. None of the reports we reviewed included a comment from the organization, nin9 or The Huns, and no timetable for an announcement was given, so details could still change. The team is preparing for upcoming events that include 1win Private Club Season 2, PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 and IEM Beijing 2026, Dust2.in reported.
