Firerose farm prison claims are the latest twist in her split from Billy Ray Cyrus. The Australian singer says he kept her cut off from the world during their marriage, a period she calls a “farm prison.” She made the claim in a new interview, according to Parade, and a representative for Cyrus has pushed back.
Firerose Farm Prison Claims: What She Alleges
“I call it farm prison, because that’s what it was for me,” Firerose said, per Parade. She alleges that rules kept her from attending church, meeting friends for coffee, driving on her own and recording solo music. In the Firerose farm prison account, she did not have a car, and the limits were imposed gradually rather than all at once. She has called it “classic narcissistic abuse.”
Firerose and Cyrus were engaged for about a year, Parade reported, before they married on Oct. 10, 2023. Cyrus filed for divorce about seven months later, on May 23, 2024, and the divorce was finalized in August 2024.
Firerose made similar claims in court filings during the divorce, alleging “extreme verbal, emotional and psychological abuse,” Today reported. Cyrus accused her of verbal, emotional and physical abuse and of fraud. The settlement included no spousal support for Firerose.
Cyrus’ Camp Calls the Claims a Bid for Attention
A representative for Cyrus disputed her account, calling it “a cry for attention” meant to damage his reputation, according to Parade. The report said Cyrus had not commented publicly on the latest allegations. The Firerose farm prison claims are one side of a contested split and have not been independently verified.
During the divorce, Cyrus accused Firerose of trying to isolate him from his family, and his manager submitted a sworn statement describing combative behavior. A source close to Cyrus told Parade she “willingly moved in with Billy Ray.” Our earlier report on Cyrus breaking his silence after a separate lawsuit shows how often his family life has played out in public. Cyrus has since gone public with a relationship with actress Elizabeth Hurley, who joined him at his Tennessee ranch in photos this year.
New Music Arrives With the Allegations
Firerose is also promoting new music as the Firerose farm prison claims circulate. Her video for “Phoenix,” released Oct. 2 and directed by Chris Applebaum, shows black-gloved hands holding her back indoors before she moves freely in golden sunlight, according to The Indie Grid. Applebaum also directed Miley Cyrus‘ 2009 “Party in the U.S.A.” video.
