DC Comics confirmed the Absolute Justice crossover at New York Comic-Con on Friday, unveiling a new five-issue miniseries that will bring together the heroes of its Absolute Universe line for the first time. The series, revealed Oct. 9, 2026, is set to begin in April 2027, according to Polygon.
Absolute Justice will unite Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern Jo Mullein and Flash Wally West, the versions of those characters that exist within DC’s Absolute Universe. Jason Aaron is writing the miniseries, with Juan Ferreyra providing art, Polygon reported.
What The Absolute Justice Crossover Reveals
The first look confirms Martian Manhunter will be the one who pulls the team together, arriving just as his own ongoing Absolute series has wrapped up. Polygon reported that while pairs of these heroes, including Batman and Wonder Woman, have already crossed paths in the Absolute Universe, Absolute Justice marks the first time the full roster appears on the page together.
A trailer released alongside the announcement shows Darkseid and other figures described as the “true rulers of this world” delivering a blunt warning to the heroes: “Abandon all hope.” Beyond that line, DC has not revealed additional plot details, and any assumptions about Darkseid’s role or the shape of the conflict remain outside what has been confirmed.
Background On The Absolute Universe
The Absolute Universe line has built its identity by stripping DC’s heroes down to bare essentials. Batman in this continuity has no butler, no mansion and none of the wealth that typically defines Bruce Wayne, a reworking that has shaped the tone of the line’s individual titles since launch.
Notably, DC structured Absolute Justice so it will not pause or interrupt the other ongoing Absolute Universe series, a departure from how most comic book crossover events typically operate. Readers following individual titles will not need to put those books on hold to follow the new miniseries.
What’s Next For Absolute Justice
Absolute Justice is scheduled to launch in April 2027 as a five-issue run from Aaron and Ferreyra. DC has not released additional solicitation details such as individual issue covers or exact release dates beyond the announced start month. Fans of the line can follow developments around other Absolute Universe titles, including Absolute Batgirl, as DC continues building out the imprint ahead of the crossover’s debut.
