Grave Seasons is a cozy farming sim where you can raise crops, sell wares, and befriend locals. Oh, there’s also a supernatural murderer on the loose who is slaughtering your neighbors. This game asks the question: “What if Stardew Valley was a horror game?”

How Grave Seasons Blends Farming Sim and Horror

As the game’s Steam page advertises, you can “grow crops, fish, mine, and participate in the local economy by selling your goods in town,” much like in Stardew Valley and other cozy games. However, the products you choose to focus on will play a role in how you unveil the town’s mystery. Similarly, as you talk to the locals and slowly befriend them, your actions will affect who gets killed and who doesn’t. You can even craft items that can help protect potential victims. Also, the Steam page advertises that “you can romance the killer,” because who doesn’t want to date a serial killer?

The Grave Seasons Trailer

The trailer debuted at Summer Game Fest. It shows the lead character arriving in town, setting up the farm, harvesting crops, and hanging out with the locals, but the eerie music demonstrates that all is not how it seems. Then the player character hears about disappearances. A date with a neighbor leads to the neighbor being murdered. In addition, the trailer shows that you can break into people’s houses while investigating. Hey, it’s for a good cause.

This Game Sounds Awesome! When Does It Come Out?

There is no release date listed on the Steam page, but the trailer says that the game will come out sometime in 2026. However, there’s a chance that the game could get pushed back. In any case, you can wishlist the game on Steam now to show your support. The game looks like a brilliant twist on the farming sim genre, which should offer hours of entertainment, whether you’re harvesting crops or hunting down the killer. If you enjoy farming sims, horror games, or ideally, both, Grave Seasons is for you.
