Steam revenue 2026 is on pace to top $20 billion for the first time, according to analyst firm Alinea Analytics.
The forecast followed Steam’s best September on record, with an estimated $1.7 billion in sales, up 13 percent from the previous September high, PC Gamer reported.
Steam revenue 2026 by the numbers
Alinea said Steam brought in $5.5 billion in the third quarter, up 12 percent from a year earlier. Revenue for the first nine months reached $16.5 billion, up 13 percent from the same period of 2025. Steam needs about $3.5 billion in the fourth quarter to cross $20 billion, Dexerto reported.
Rhys Elliott, Alinea’s head of market analysis, tied the outlook to the release schedule. He called it “insane” and said it makes it safe to say Steam will pass $20 billion for the first time.
September’s top games on Steam
Wardogs, which entered early access Sept. 10, led September launches with an estimated $86.9 million. Onimusha: Way of the Sword followed with $30.4 million, The Blood of Dawnwalker with $26.9 million, Bodycam with $24.2 million and EA Sports FC 27 with $20.7 million, according to Alinea’s September report.
The figures are Alinea’s estimates, so the Steam revenue 2026 total remains a projection.
