Daily Devotion Monday Motivation | February 23, 2026
Happy Monday! It’s time for your daily devotion. The Bible often brings people into its narratives who aren’t of Jewish origin. However, not descending from one of the twelve tribes of Israel doesn’t deter them from putting their faith in the God of Israel. In today’s daily devotion, know that He is the God who created all mankind.
Spreading the Gospel

In Acts 8, Saul is on a rampage, attacking followers of Jesus in the controversial new movement called The Way. Paul bombards their churches by entering every house and hauling people to prison. Because of perilous times in Jerusalem, the disciples scatter, preaching the gospel throughout different regions. In verse 5, Philip goes to Samaria and begins preaching Christ, and they joyfully receive the gospel.
The Samaritans, Jews separated by different beliefs, see miracles, healings, and demons cast out. Peter and John join Phillip upon hearing the Samaritans are coming to Christ, and they begin baptizing them, praying for them, and laying hands on them to receive the Holy Ghost. In your daily devotion, remember the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20 to go, teach, and baptize all nations.
The Ethiopian Eunuch
In verse 26, the angel of the Lord tells Phillip to go to Gaza, which is south of Jerusalem and in the desert. Phillip quickly obeys. There, he finds an Ethiopian eunuch, the chief treasurer in Queen Candace’s court, who’d traveled to Jerusalem to worship. Although Ethiopian, he believes in the God of Israel and serves Him. Phillip spots him sitting in his chariot reading. In this daily devotion, God’s will is for all people to be saved, and as His vessel, you must go wherever and to whomever He sends you.
Where the Spirit Leads
Upon seeing the Ethiopian official, the Spirit tells Phillip to approach his chariot. Phillip runs to join him. As he nears, he hears him reading from the prophet Isaiah, and asks if he understands what he’s reading. In verse 31, the Ethiopian responds, “How can I, except some man should guide me?” Then he invites Phillip to sit with him and reads Isaiah 53:7-8.
Not knowing the scriptures’ meaning, the Ethiopian asks Phillip, “I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?” In your daily devotion, like the Ethiopian man, you should have a hunger for the word of God, a desire to read and understand Scripture.
A Joyful Baptism
In verse 34, Phillip has the revelatory knowledge the Ethiopian seeks, and he begins with the passage from Isaiah and preaches to him about Jesus. As they’re riding along in the chariot, the Ethiopian sees water and requests to be baptized. Peter asks if he believes with all his heart, and the Ethiopian declares, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”
After leaving the chariot, they walk over to the water, and Phillip baptizes him. Upon coming up from the water, Phillip is taken away by the Spirit, and the Ethiopian doesn’t see him again. But he doesn’t let Phillip’s disappearance stop him from departing while rejoicing in his salvation. And as a joy-filled believer, he will now take the gospel of Christ to Ethiopia.
Obeying the Holy Spirit
In Monday’s daily devotion, as a present-day disciple of Jesus, where will you take the gospel? Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you to share the gospel with people who are outside your scope of familiarity if He desires. In this daily devotion, like Phillip, open your heart, listen to the Spirit’s guidance, and obey His voice. In Jeremiah 32:27, God proclaims, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh.”
