Poppy Playtime creatures ranked by fright factor start with Huggy Wuggy, the Prototype and the Wrongside Outimals, three of the monsters in Chapter 5: Broken Things. The ranking is our opinion, and the facts behind it come from the sources linked below.

Chapter 5 launched Feb. 18 and became Steam’s global top seller. It peaked at 52,866 concurrent players, more than double the 25,128 record set by Chapter 4 in January 2025, according to PC Gamer.

Poppy Playtime creatures ranked: why they scare

Our Poppy Playtime creatures ranked list leans on mascot horror, where toys built to comfort children turn into predators. Chapter 5 brings back Huggy Wuggy and the Prototype and adds the Wrongside Outimals, cute critters with their insides on the outside, according to PC Gamer.

1. Huggy Wuggy

Huggy Wuggy is the towering toy with a fixed, wide grin. The contrast between the cheerful face and the threat is what sticks with players. Pocket Tactics lists him as a secondary threat in Chapter 5, behind the Prototype.

2. The Prototype

The Prototype is the main villain of Chapter 5, and players finally meet Experiment 1006, according to Pocket Tactics. Our Prototype breakdown covers the reveal in more detail.

3. Wrongside Outimals

The Wrongside Outimals are the newest twist on the formula. Their cute look clashes with their stitched-together, inside-out design. We covered them earlier in our Wrongside Outimals story, and our Lily Lovebraids guide helps with the chapter.
