LEGO Astro Bot finally sold solo for $24.99

LEGO Astro Bot is now sold alone for $24.99 at PlayStation Direct, so fans can get the 276-piece PS5 mascot without buying the $179.99 LEGO PlayStation set.

The LEGO Astro Bot set is now sold on its own for $24.99 through PlayStation Direct, so fans no longer need to buy the $179.99 LEGO PlayStation set to get the PS5 mascot, Push Square reported Sept. 30. The 276-piece build had first been announced as a free gift with purchase of the larger set.

LEGO Astro Bot price and availability

The standalone LEGO Astro Bot costs $24.99 in the U.S. and £17.99 in the U.K., according to Push Square. The PlayStation Direct listing had initially read “Coming Soon” before the set went on sale.

LEGO PlayStation went on sale Oct. 1 for LEGO Insiders, the brand’s free membership program, and opens to all shoppers Oct. 4, according to Beebom. Early buyers of the 1,911-piece console set get LEGO Astro Bot free while the promotion lasts, and VGC reported that the gift offer is limited to the LEGO website during that window.

What’s in the set

The figure stands about 8 inches tall on its stand, with a rotating head, posable arms and swappable eyes that change Astro’s expression, Beebom reported. It also includes a cape, a propulsion effect and stickers.

Why it matters

Collectors who only want the mascot can now skip the $179.99 set. Fans who planned to buy LEGO PlayStation anyway can still pick up LEGO Astro Bot at no extra cost, a $24.99 value, as long as the gift promotion runs.

The bigger set recreates Sony’s original console at close to full size, with working Power and Open buttons and a plug-in replica of the original wired controller. Under the disc lid sit two dioramas based on “Gran Turismo” and “Ape Escape” that can be removed and displayed separately, according to VGC.
