The Gundam Base Mall of America opening has been postponed, along with the neighboring Bandai Namco Cross Store, from the planned Sept. 30 date.
Bandai Namco Amusement America announced the delay on its official site, saying the Minneapolis-area openings were postponed from the original date. The company has not given a new date. Anime News Network and Siliconera also reported the delay.
What Gundam Base Mall of America was set to offer
Bandai said the Bandai Namco Cross Store would feature 15 official shops and brands. The Gundam Base store was to sell Gunpla model kits and exclusive limited-edition items, according to Bandai’s opening announcement.
Both stores would be the second U.S. location for their brands. The first U.S. Cross Store is at Japan Village in Brooklyn, New York, and Gundam Base Chicago opened in December 2025.
What the delay means for fans
Bandai Namco Amusement America said it would share a new opening date once one is confirmed. It has not explained the reason for the postponement.
