Fans of Phineas and Ferb have a reason to celebrate! Disney has officially announced that a third movie in the beloved animated franchise is in the works. The film, created by series masterminds Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, is set to begin production this year and will premiere on Disney+ and Disney Channel.
New Phineas and Ferb Movie Promises A Time-Warp Adventure
The upcoming movie promises to take viewers on a thrilling time-travel journey. The plot centers around Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest experiment gone wrong, which erases the moment Phineas’ mom met Ferb’s dad. This twist means the two boys never become brothers, and their once-extraordinary days turn into mundane routines. With reality unraveling, Phineas and Ferb must race against time to restore the timeline and save their bond.
The Original Cast Returns
The movie will feature the return of the original voice cast, including Vincent Martella as Phineas, David Errigo Jr. as Ferb, Ashley Tisdale as Candace, and Dee Bradley Baker as Perry the Platypus. Fans can also look forward to the return of Povenmire as Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Marsh as Major Monogram.
Disney Branded Television President Ayo Davis expressed excitement about the project, saying, “This movie gives Dan and Swampy the chance to stretch that world even further and play with what happens when everything gets turned on its head.”
A Legacy of Success
Since its debut in 2008, Phineas and Ferb has become one of Disney’s most successful animated series, winning multiple Emmy Awards and captivating audiences worldwide. The franchise has already delivered two hit movies: Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension (2011) and Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe (2020). Both films were met with critical acclaim and strong viewership, solidifying the show’s place in pop culture.
The announcement of a third movie follows the successful revival of the series, which returned for a fifth season last year. The new episodes drew impressive ratings, proving that the adventures of Phineas, Ferb, and their friends remain as popular as ever.
What’s Next?
With production set to begin soon, fans can expect more updates on the movie’s progress in the coming months. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the series, this new Phineas and Ferb movie promises to deliver the humor, heart, and creativity that have made the franchise a favorite for years.
