“Home Alone” 35th Anniversary Limited Pop-Up Events Bring Holiday Nostalgia to Fans

Back in 1990, โ€œHome Aloneโ€ was a hit that came out of nowhere. The story of a boy accidentally left at home alone for Christmas and who must defend his house from burglars has become a holiday classic that many families watch every year. Now, to celebrate the filmโ€™s 35th anniversary, Disney is going all out with in-person pop-up events.

โ€œHome Aloneโ€ Pizza Parties!

As reported by Comics Beat, Prince St. Pizza will be rebranding itself from December 10 to 17 into Little Neroโ€™s, the fictional pizza restaurant from โ€œHome Alone.โ€ Across the nation, locations will include collectible Little Neroโ€™s packaging. The Chicago and Toronto locations will include Little Neroโ€™s decor as well.

In Los Angeles, the Studio City Location will be given a complete Little Neroโ€™s makeover, including the Little Neroโ€™s pizza car parked outside. If you live in the area, be sure to pay them a visit and order the cheese pizza. Youโ€™ll remember from the film that Kevin hates all pizza toppings except plain cheese. The LA cheese pizza will be temporarily renamed โ€œThe Lovely Cheese Pizzaโ€ as a tribute to Kevinโ€™s favorite pizza.

A Gingerbread House!

If you prefer sweet holiday treats to pizza, Disney+ and Hulu have commissioned a giant gingerbread house based on the McCallister house from the โ€œHome Aloneโ€ movies. According to Comics Beat, โ€œthe house will stand at a whopping 58 feet long, 42 feet wide, and 25.6 feet tall.โ€ They also included these tidbits:

โ€œMade from 5,700 pounds of all-purpose flour and over 4,200 eggs, the house will be constructed out of 4,400 gingerbread brick tiles and 800 roof tiles, all held together with 20 gallons of edible glue and finished with 20 pounds of fondant. Weather dependent, this installation will be open to the public in the evenings on December 18 and 19 at Hollywood and Vine in Los Angeles, California.โ€

Possibly in honor of Kevin wanting to help a childrenโ€™s charity in โ€œHome Alone 2,โ€ people who visit the gingerbread house can make donations to Toys for Tots while there. Should you visit the gingerbread house, bring an unwrapped, unopened new toy to donate to needy kids. Youโ€™ll make a childโ€™s holiday very happy.

Do You Have a CLEAR+ Account? Go Travel with Kevin!

At select airports, CLEAR+ members can receive free โ€œHome Aloneโ€ ornaments when they travel between December 17 and 21. If your name happens to be Kevin, youโ€™ll also get a pass for free CLEAR Concierge service. Itโ€™s neat if your name is Kevin, but itโ€™s also kind of unfair for, well, everyone else who isnโ€™t named Kevin.

If You Canโ€™t Travel, Then Scream โ€œKEVIN!โ€

Finally, if you canโ€™t attend any of the in-person events, you can just watch the movie. If you have a VIZIO remote and a Disney+ subscription, make sure to try screaming โ€œKEVIN!โ€ into your remote from December 19 to 31, and youโ€™ll be instantly taken to the Disney+ app, where โ€œHome Aloneโ€ will automatically stream. Be sure to imitate Mrs. McCallisterโ€™s voice!
